HAVE A SEAT

Volunteers with the Friends of Red Rock Canyon removed the old bench on Sand Canyon Trail at the top of Contemplative Trail and installed a brand new one. The old bench had been in place for about seventeen years and was badly rotted. This is the second bench the Friends have replaced recently. David V., Dan D. and Denise D. with FORRC, Vince F. with Friends of Cheyenne Mountain State Park and Jay K. with Friends of Ute Pass Trails were supported by Larry K., Senior Ranger at Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department. Larry drove the materials up Sand Canyon Trail as close as he could to the work site and the volunteers brought them the rest of the way to the work site by hand. Special thanks to David V. of Friends of Red Rock Canyon for getting the bench made, gathering all required materials and coordinating all logistics to make this event a success
