Volunteers devote thousands of hours each year to supporting Red Rock Canyon Open Space—clearing downed trees, repairing trail tread, restoring damaged areas, improving signage, and helping build new trails and connections throughout the park. Working in close partnership with the City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department and our trail partners, the Friends of Red Rock Canyon (FoRRC) helps maintain a safe, sustainable, and enjoyable multi-use trail system for all visitors.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all past volunteers whose time, energy, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the park. Your efforts have helped preserve and enhance this special place for the entire community.
At this time, we do not have any active volunteer opportunities available. However, new projects and workdays will be posted here as they become available, so please check back for future ways to get involved and support the canyon.

Donations to Red Rock Canyon Open Space directly support the care, protection, and long-term stewardship of this beloved public landscape. While the park remains free and open to all, contributions help maintain and restore trails, protect fragile ecosystems, and ensure that visitors can continue to safely enjoy the canyon’s unique red rock formations, wildlife habitats, and scenic views.
Your support also funds ongoing conservation work, including native habitat restoration, erosion control, invasive species management, and volunteer trail programs. Donations help provide the tools, materials, and staffing needed for stewardship efforts, as well as educational resources that deepen public understanding of the area’s geology, history, and ecology. In short, every contribution helps preserve Red Rock Canyon Open Space as a sustainable, welcoming place for current and future generations.
