WHITE ACRES TRAIL BEING RENAMED TO DON ELLIS TRAIL

After almost five years, The Friends of Red Rock Canyon have finally been successful in urging the city to bring this issue before the Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Parks Advisory Board for approval.

The city will present this request to the Parks Board at their August 23rd meeting located at 1401 Recreation Way which starts at 7:30 am. The exact time of the presentation is unknown. Public comment will be allowed from citizens and limited to three minutes each.

The Friends welcome all to attend this event as there is no one who is more deserving of this honor than Don. This gentleman almost single handedly saved our open space for public use. We hope to see you there!
