The Bioblitz was a big success in July! See post on the main page. Manitou Trail CATS and Friends of Red Rock Canyon teamed up to beautify the pond and surrounding areas in July. Dead brush and limbs were removed from the pond area making it much more attractive. Siberian Elm tress were pruned and chutes removed along the road and other areas between the picnic parking lot and pond. No poison was used to control the elm trees. With proper care, these trees will provide valuable shade in the future. The board is considering other ideas to enhance the appearance of our open space in the future.
