Each outcrop of rock in Red Rock Canyon Open Space is like a page in a history book of  ancient Colorado Springs.  Every rock has a story to tell about its prehistoric ecosystem and the fossil evidence reveals that Colorado Springs was once vastly different. The dramatic ridges and canyons in Red Rock Canyon reveal over 300 million years of geologic time.
