Trails
At present approximately 13 miles of trail in Red Rock Canyon Open Space have been opened. These trails are reached from the S. Ridge Road entrance to Red Rock Canyon south of U.S. 24 between the 31st Street traffic light and the Manitou Springs exit and from the 31st Street trailhead which is approximately one block south of U.S. 24 on 31st Street. The 31st Street trailhead has parking for horse trailers.
Pets must be kept on leash on all trails in Red Rock Canyon Open Space except the two off-leash dog loops.
Approximately 4 miles of additional trail are planned for the future. These additional trails will be developed largely through the work of volunteers. Check volunteer opportunities on our website or the Colorado Springs Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services to learn about volunteer projects.
