Red Rock Canyon is a geologic extension of the Garden of the Gods south of U. S. Highway 24.
The main entrance to Red Rock Canyon is reached from U.S. 24 by turning south onto South Ridge Road which is between the 31st Street traffic light and the Manitou Springs exit.
The 31st Street trailhead is located on 31st Street approximately one block south of U.S. 24 and offers parking for horse trailers.
An additional entrance to Red Rock Canyon Open Space is planned for 26th Street south of the switchbacks. A trail connection into Red Rock Canyon Open Space from the Intemann Trial in Section 16 has been completed through volunteer efforts sponsored by the Intemann Trail Committee, REI, and Friends of Red Rock Canyon.
