Friends of Red Rock Canyon is an independent nonprofit organization which is recognized as a 'friends' group by the City of Colorado Springs Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.
Friends of Red Rock Canyon supports Red Rock Canyon Open Space through stewardship, education, advocacy, fund raising and volunteer projects.
These efforts promote public awareness of Red Rock Canyon Open Space, provide education about the special natural and historic character of Red Rock Canyon Open Space, and protect and enhance its natural and recreational value.
Friends of Red Rock Canyon works in cooperation with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services to further these objectives.

(Friends of Red Rock Canyon is an outgrowth of the Red Rock Canyon Committee, an ad hoc advocacy group which promoted the preservation of Red Rock Canyon. Before becoming a recognized 'friends' group, Friends of Red Rock Canyon was known as the Red Rock Canyon Foundation.)
